Night Golf serves as new attraction for students  SEPTEMBER 19, 2011

The balls are glowing, but don’t worry. These glow-in-the-dark golf balls are supposed to.

The Caddo Creek Golf Club wants to bring students something different. They want to give die-hard golf fans a new twist to the game and those who don’t like golf a reason to change their mind.

The game involves glow-in-the-dark golf supplies such as glow golf balls, glowing flag sticks, and an array of other glowing things that would make a person wonder why there is no techno music playing. There are even glow necklaces that players are required to wear for safety so that everyone knows where everyone else is at.

Most students probably don’t want to waste their weekends playing golf. If they did, they would probably be on the golf team. A glow golf tournament is a great alternive.

Night Golf Gains Popularity  AUGUST 12, 2011

"Imagine heading out onto the golf course after dark and whacking away at a glow-in-the-dark golf ball  and trying to hit the green in the dead of night.

You guessed it -- this annual fundraiser for KUU-US Crisis Line Society is one of the most popular events of the year, and when the
golf course is lined with glow sticks it's a lot easier than you'd think.

The KUU-US Night Golf Tournament, which takes place on Saturday at
Hollies Executive Golf Club, has established itself as the big summer event for the nonprofit society, and it has become so popular they hardly have to advertise, according to executive director Ilya Nicholson-Nave.

Celebrity Night Golf Tournament in New Zealand  JULY 5, 2011

"Glow-in-the-dark golf balls will light up the Mount Maunganui Golf Club tomorrow night in the Stars on Pars inaugural tournament. TVNZ news presenter and golfer Peter Williams will host the event, which will raise funds for Special Olympics New Zealand.

Event manager Phillippa Martin said it would help corporate golfers get involved in the cause: "Special Olympics don't have an existing list of corporate support. [This glow golf tournament] is different enough that we could get people involved."

Jared Allen's Night-Ops Glow Golf Tournament JUNE 18, 2011

"“Night Ops II at Acala Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, featured nine holes of daytime golf — and nine holes of night golf, with glow-in-the-dark golf balls and glowsticks to mark the fairways and hazards.  Along the way, members of the Marines barked at the participants, even during the most solemn and quiet moment on the course, the backswing."

Night Golf tournament is deemed a success MARCH 26, 2011

The Marshall Pilot Club held its first Night Golf Scramble fundraiser with glow-in-the-dark golf balls  Saturday night as the winds were high, just like the spirit of community and support.

The Glow Golf event was held at Oaklawn Golf Course where Pilot Club members and participants enjoyed a hot dog cookout before donning their glow-in-the-dark necklaces and bracelets. The fairways and hazards were lined with glow sticks and other night golf supplies.

“For our first night golf tournament, we’re pleased with the turnout, said Becky Flowers, Pilot Club president. “We’ve received a lot of support from our sponsors."
