Night Golf serves as new attraction for students SEPTEMBER 19, 2011
The balls are glowing, but don’t worry. These glow-in-the-dark golf balls are supposed to.
The Caddo Creek Golf Club wants to bring students something different. They want to give die-hard golf fans a new twist to the game and those who don’t like golf a reason to change their mind.
The game involves glow-in-the-dark golf supplies such as glow golf balls, glowing flag sticks, and an array of other glowing things that would make a person wonder why there is no techno music playing. There are even glow necklaces that players are required to wear for safety so that everyone knows where everyone else is at.
Most students probably don’t want to waste their weekends playing golf. If they did, they would probably be on the golf team. A glow golf tournament is a great alternive.

The Marshall Pilot Club held its first Night Golf Scramble fundraiser with glow-in-the-dark golf balls Saturday night as the winds were high, just like the spirit of community and support.
The Glow Golf event was held at Oaklawn Golf Course where Pilot Club members and participants enjoyed a hot dog cookout before donning their glow-in-the-dark necklaces and bracelets. The fairways and hazards were lined with glow sticks and other night golf supplies.
“For our first night golf tournament, we’re pleased with the turnout, said Becky Flowers, Pilot Club president. “We’ve received a lot of support from our sponsors."
